Even more life drawing
Great news, I've been trying to keep up with drawing...well, at all, during the fucking holiday season. I'm tired and aggravated and exhausted and angry and this usually let's me know I absolutely have to make some time to draw. So, let's see how that turned out.
At the awesomeness that is open figure night at The Atelier at Flowerfield, my art buddy Tasha put together a fun night for about fifteen artists to draw. Being around other artists in this kind of setting is exactly what I needed, and these two 10min drawings got me pretty loose right away.
Now, let's move on past the left drawing(tape did not cover near enough awfulness) and go to the one on the right. This is my favorite drawing from the night, as I feel happiest on how I managed the charcoal and oil bar mix to show light and mass.
This is from the following week, and it's pretty much a "sketch" on how I'm looking to draw my next comic. Starting with charcoal into Sumi ink into white paint oil bar mixing it before it dries and then into pencil line work aaaaand I really like this.
Today I finally tried this on a new panel, and Scott(the writer I'm working on with this) fucking loved it. So I guess it's time to get to work already.
